Budget per day?

HI there,
my partner and I are planning a RTW in September 2010 including Japan, Dubai, Europe (Germany, Prague, Netherlans, Belgium, Francem Londonm Spain, Italy), New York, Mexico & LAs Vegas.

We will be hoping to stay in accommodations (hotels & occasional hostels) with an average cost of $100 AUD, $100 budget for food/drink per day & $120 for general sightseeing per day. Transport is factored in seperately (including rail passes etc)

What Do You Do?

I understand that some Countries you go to you need to have a return flight booked otherwise they wont let you on the plane.

So how do people get around this?

I’m trying to get to South East Asia, and if I land in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia i can get that for £200 from the UK. If i book a return, then that’s boosted up to £400.
